a hip & shoulder mobility + asana workshop with tawni

Take a 90 minute journey to unlock your creative center, release stored emotions & find a sense of overall calm in the body, mind and heart. Working from a framework of multiple modalities including yoga asana (postures), mobility & somatic exercises, and chakras, join Tawni in this hip focused workshop to create space and relieve tension in your hips, lower back and nervous system.

This practice will include moments of dynamic movement to increase mobility in the hips and supported yin poses to relieve tension while weaving in the teachings of Chakras (energy wheels) focusing on the root, sacral and solar plexus chakras.

Hip opening asana helps to improve circulation, flexibility and range of motion in the hips, spine, and legs, often relieving lower back pain and helping with alignment. In this extended practice, we will work to find space in the hamstrings, adductors, psoas, hip flexors, and other muscles surrounding the hip joints, as these muscles are often tight due to sitting for prolonged periods or repetitive movements like running and cycling.

Working on the deep tissues of the hips, energetically this practice will help to release stored emotions, leaving you to feel relaxed, creative and open. The intention is to let go of what no longer serves you and create space for what is meant for you.
